At 20, Allie Ostrander already is a running legend, and Tuesday she added to her legacy by winning her first women's championship at Mount Marathon.
Ostrander, of Soldotna, covered the wicked climb up the mountain overlooking Seward and the rocketing downhill in an unofficial time of 49 minutes, 19 seconds, the second-fastest time in race history. Only 2015 champion Emelie Forsberg of Sweden has run faster (47:48).
Full article below. Article has a great headline: "The legend grows: Allie Ostrander wins women’s Mount Marathon title."
I've changed the initital title of the thread. It was initially, "Allie Ostrander wins the Alaska Mount Marathon!"
