i agree with spencer wrote:...if he takes off like he did in Rio % wise as in running faster than his 300m PR.....
rio last year his splits
10.7
9.8 (20.5)
10.5 (31.00)
12.03 (43.03)
so he is faster at 100-300 this year, lets imagine he takes off at worlds final something like this
10.5
9.8 (20.3)
10.5 (30.8)
12.03 (42.83)
or who knows maybe he runs 11 flat last 100 and destroys everyones mind
eh ?
you do realise wade ran nonsense suicidal splits in rio ???
the best template to be used is butch's 43.29 which is close to ideal splits but still far from perfect but what elites shoud aim for
from analysis of 43.29 & other elite runs, ideal splitting of a 400, ignoring the inital 100m which is hard to time, shoud be
200 split = ( 400 time - 1 ) * (1/2)
300 split = ( 400 time - 0.5 ) * (3/4)
or vice-versa
400 time = ( 2 * 200 split ) + 1
400 time = ( (4/3) * 300 split ) + 0.5
ideal 200/300 splits for 43.00 are
21.0 / 31.88
further analysis of wade's 43.03 in rio indicate if he'd run his ideal race with "perfect" splits, his clocking wouda been
~ 42.50 !!!
off splits of
20.75 / 31.50
butch's 43.29 is the template to use for above & why his last 100 in that 43.29 shoudn't have been regarded as anything special but "proper" energy distribution
if wade had run rio like butch, he wouda run 42.5
