I'm 6-2 and 165 and I can GUARANTEE you that Craig Mottram and Ben True DO NOT WEIGH 165!
Theses guys are rail thin compared to me.
Maybe after carb loading and with clothes shoes and a belt on.
Solinsky however probably had the correct weight listed.
OK, I guess if you GUARANTEE that they are "rail thin" compared to you, /EOT!

At 6'0" and 165, that gives him a BMI of 22.4. Who tops that?
Like other posters, I think true weighs less than 165.
Wikipedia lists Bayron Piedra at 5'9", 150 lbs which is a 22.2 BMI. Piedra looks a lot stockier than True.

I think we raced against each other only once (I was shorter distance) and I asked him what exactly he weighed (as we had similar builds), he said 160-165, mentioned how he'd tried to crack 160 but just couldn't maintain strength so just allowed his body to be where it naturally wanted.
hope this helps.
ANDY VERNON and GARRET HEATH MAYBE?
not my real name wrote:

Did you beat him?
Christian Hesch (boardshorts guy) used to be pretty stocky, and he was tall as well so his BMI would be up there.
Don Cabral always looked stocky to me, I don't really see how a 6 footer looks stocky even if thick. Cabral is listed at 5'10" 150 on wiki. His quads look huge, too huge.
I'm trying to think if there's anyone that is/was really short (like
Toshihiko Seko is listed at 5'7", 137lb. but that's only a BMI of 21.5.
Ben MF True! 7:35 at Paris DL!!! Gotta be a new 22.4 BMI WR.

One famous long distance runner with a high BMI not discussed yet is the 1956 double olympic champion (5K/10K) Vladimir Kuts, who is usually listed at 172 cm and 72 kg (5"8 / 159 lb) which would make his BMI to be staggering 24.3.
At the shorter distances, there is also the 1500m WR holder Olavi Salonen from 1950s, a Finn who was also known as "tank" due to his bulky appearance. Based on his Wikipedia data, his BMI would be also very high 24.4 (174 cm / 74 kg).

Particularly the old height/weight data circulating in the Internet is always somewhat unreliable, but these two people also do look huge when compared to their competitors.
You are clearly a student of the history of distance running. Very impressive!
Wiki stats are far from official. Wiki has Stanley Biwott listed as 5' 0". Juuuuust a bit off. Lol
Also Andy Vernon is far stockier than Ben True.
Exactly, both Herb Linsdsay and Piedra were 5'9" 150 lbs. True does not look like either of these two guys. This is how Lindsay was described in 1980 by SI:His body is lean and flat this way, from the side view, but wide this way, from head-on. At 5'9" and 150 pounds, he is Arnold Schwarzenegger with most of the air let out. Or, as Greater Boston Track Club Running Coach Bill Squires says, "The first time I saw Herb in full pursuit, coming over a hill, I thought, 'My God, he looks like a melted halfback.' " With Lindsay, every important bone is overlaid with a sheath of muscle. His thighs are slabbed on the sides. The popular thinking in this nation is that runners just aren't supposed to look this way. It isn't necessarily the correct thinking, as we shall see later, it's just popular. People tend to identify runners with the wraithlike Bill Rodgers, who looks like Woody Allen at speed, or Frank Shorter, handsome but terribly gaunt. The theory grows that because such men are successful runners, skinny must be good. And then up pops a Lindsay, clean-cut and rippling, giving off fierce messages about "Let's go racing." We see his competition number and the Nike prototype racing shoes—those advance-model Nikes are a dead giveaway—but are we sure this man is a real runner? This man is, indeed, uh-huh, a runner. https://www.si.com/vault/1980/09/29/825004/herb-lindsay-comes-on-strong-his-physique-seems-better-suited-to-the-backfield-than-the-blacktop-but-the-record-shows-hes-americas-finest-road-racer#

Well, it's documented on his Wiki page as such. Are there any other sources out there that show otherwise?
Lol Wikipedia is legit??
maybe it's just the size of the competition he runs next to that makes him look big - but I think it's just scale and he scales out to similar dimensions
