I was reading some infographic about the minimum wage and where it was $15. There was one place not on the coasts - Flagstaff.
Minimum wage is going to $15 by 2021 although the city council just slowed down it's increase the first few years.
Got to be one of the lower cost of living places amongst the places racing the minimum wage to $15.
Can't believe I didn't know they had approved this. People used to ask me about jobs in Flagstaff in terms of running and I said outside of WL Gore or the University it was my impression most of the jobs were service industry/ fast food / minimum wage jobs. Tons of motels in Flagstaff for people going to Grand Canyon. Now if you can get one of those jobs, you'll get paid more hourly.
Any Flag runners want to chime in? Not sure what jobs most people are getting on the side, but if you're just working part time often it's not very high paying.
