interesting. anyone with any insight why he chose there?

Maybe he can't train well without sagebrush alongside the track and the roads. Too much grass in Pennsylvania.
It seems to me based on the article that he wants to heal slowly.
Probably wants to be close to home.
Who knows. Lots of potential reasons.
Some off the top of my head:
-Close to home
-Smaller college atmosphere
-Might think he'll get more individualized training/attention at a smaller school
-Might like the Eastern Oregon coach and program
-Might prefer having less pressure being in the NAIA instead of D1 NCAA

I remember a couple weeks ago there was a thread with no link saying the same thing and nobody believed it lol.

Consensus on the previous thread was that the superior training partners and academics drove the move.
Very interesting choice. Probably didn't like the pressure to perform. Wasn't use to it. Big fish in a small pond. Wonder if got released or not. Eastern Oregon is returning there whole top 7. Only 1 senior this upcoming year. If he sits they will still have 6 from the team this last year plus new kids. Huge recruiting tool also. Eastern Oregon scored with him, they will be a top 3 team I think
while most of these are at least decently accurate, EOU is actually a perfect fit for him if you know him at all. smaller school will suite him better while the coach not only has a returning team, but has sent people to USAs over the past couple of years proving he can coach a high caliber athlete. also the location is irrelevant as the grapevine says slagowskis family no longer lives in Idaho.
glad he is getting back into things
He heard Cas Loxsom was coming back for a redshirt 9th year of eligibility.
Repeat much?

How do you know that the consensus was right, because it was on letsrun?

Released or not, he was not eligible to compete for NCAA until he completes one year of residency at his new school. Per NCAA regulations, once you start full time as a student, if you don't complete a full year there, you are ineligible to compete at a new school until you finish a full year there.
bizarre. That report was not credible, yet here we are. He must be pretty homesick to go to a team where they reported in a story that a guy had run a 9:50 steeple. If he wanted to run at Hayward, I am sure that Oregon would have accommodated that.

Letsrun's staggering inability to recognize sarcasm has carried over from the other thread, I see.
There is no out of state tuition at EOU. There was another runner that made their comeback in the same Conference, Eric Avila ran for Southern Oregon University

Wow, my geography freaking sucks. I had no idea Idaho bordered Oregon. I'm from the east coast and come on, it's Idaho, but still.
It does seem bizarre.
Wouldn't you rather compete for the DI championship than the D2 championship? Also, does he still get a scholarship?

Right, it's hilarious isn't it.
The other day a disheveled man who sleeps under a bridge started screaming about how Mary murdered her husband Ken and NOBODY BELIEVED HIM.
But now there is forensic evidence linking Mary to the crime and suddenly EVERYBODY BELIEVES IT!
What wankers/.blue-pillers/unwoke fools/whatever internet insult is current this week.
I have a friend who recently talked to slagowski, the report from slagowski was injury troubles - not really able to recover properly and did not feel that the coaches were giving his injury troubles proper attention. I think anyone who has dealt with stress fractures can at least relate a little.
We can all speculate about other reasons, , but let me just say, he raced A LOT in high school, and based on my friend's conversation he regrets it to some extent (especially racing SO MUCH indoor). He did some amazing things in high school, and maybe got burned out. After all he ran on a stress fracture at the prefontaine. I hope he does amazing in Eastern Oregon. I hope the best for him.
I actually saw him run his first 1:48 800m - probably the smoothest runner I have seen in person. It's amazing he solo'ed 3 sub 1:50s in high school in small high school meets. Also, I still believe his sub 4 was one of the more impressive ones out of the 10 sub 4s.
Alright as u can probably tell, I am a little biased towards him, but seriously I hope he shows more of his stuff.
