Typical Week:
Monday: 1 mile w/u, static stretch, dynamic stretch, 4-6 miles fartlek consisting of 400 easy, 400 medium (slightly slower than tempo), 400 hard (mile pace). 3 minute water break after every 2 miles, 1 mile c/d, static stretch, ab and core
Tuesday AM: drills, 20x40m sprints with about 15 seconds rest (2 minute water break halfway through sprints), ab and core, and weights. Workout done with football team.
Tuesday PM: 1 mile warmup, static stretch, 6-7 miles recovery, 6x100m strides w/ 45 second rest.
Wednesday: 1 mile w/u, 2 mile race, static stretch, dynamic stretch, 1 mile c/d
Thursday AM: exact same as Tuesday AM but 12x150m w/ 100m walking recovery
Thursday PM: Exact same as Tuesday PM
Friday: 1 mile w/u, static stretch, 6-8x800 5k pace w/ 3:00 rest, 1 mile c/d, static stretch, ab and core
Saturday: 1 mile w/u, static stretch, 8-10 mile long run, 6x100m strides w/ 45 second rest
Sunday: off
