Technically, I'm a beginner, in that I've been running off and on for months. Because of this, my mileage (and weight, haha) have not been optimal.
Now, I am starting to train regularly, and have come up with sort of a weekly regimen. I don't know if this sounds at all like a good program, so imput would be great! (Also, don't let the numbers fool you...my miles are VERY slow, and I'm naturally a long-distance runner. So please don't forget I'm a beginner, haha!)
Monday: 15 miles
Tuesday: 2 miles am, 30-60min gym and/or yoga, 2 miles pm
Wednesday: 15 miles
Thursday: 2 miles am, 30-60min gym and/or yoga, 2 miles pm (Tempo day
Friday: 15 miles
Saturday: 2 miles am, 30-60min gym and/or yoga, 2 miles pm
Sunday: Rest
Also, I am currently eating 2000-2500 calories per day (definitely need to lose ~ 25lbs).
I am 5'6".
While weight loss is important to me, I love the way it feels when I'm adequately "energized" for my runs. Therefore, if weight loss is slow here at the beginning, but I can feel myself getting faster and more fit, then I am content. The amount of food I eat in a day feels like a LOT, but I also know that I'm pushing my body and need to recover.
However, if I'm eating too much to where I am not going to lose much weight for a very very long time (or at all), then obviously I don't want to eat too much, haha!
I generally have a slow metabolism, so I'm not the type of person who can sit around all day doing nothing, eat an entire pizza AND cheesecake, and not gain any weight ;)
I'll take any advice/criticism/other that anyone has to offer!
Thanks!! :)
