Hey all, I've had a weird foot pain for a few weeks now and wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on it. Had a met matarsal stress fracture in the winter and was booted for 4 weeks, non running for 4 weeks. Started to build mileage back up and I was at 50 a few weeks ago. At the end of the week, my forefoot started feeling a little achey and it got worse the next few days of running. Took 5 days off and saw no improvements. Ran yesterday and felt okay at best. My trainer thinks it could be my peroneal brevis but I'm not 100% convinced.
My pain is largely localized around the 4th and 5th metatarsal, on the top of my foot. The 5th toe joint seems to be the epicenter of the pains and the space between 4 and 5 are the main achey areas. The pain is definitely achey/sore with occasional "pokes." I find it unlikely that I could have a severe injury again considering my mileage, intensity, and duration was not as high as it was during my previous injury. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
