I wouldn't really call this an injury, but I'd like to get your guys judgement on what it could be...
So I have this tender, very dull ache / pain in the inside of my right leg. It feels as though it is behind the bone where the muscle connects to the bone. It's right where the soleus starts (the "bump" of the calf muscle ends), or maybe just above there. It doesn't hurt to run. If anything, it just feels tight or weak occasionally when running. It is slightly tender to touch, and I can pinpoint an area of 2 or so inches where it's tender.
I'm at a higher mileage than I've been in the past couple months but nothing I haven't been to before (60-70mpw). I've been doing a lot of this running on trails, nothing super technical but occasional roots and hills. I've also been doing eccentric heel drops for the oppostite leg because i've had some achilles issues the past year, and this involves a lot of calf raises with the effected leg (to lift my body do I can drop on the hurt achilles).
I've never had a stress fracture and am, obviously, slightly worried it may be that. On the other hand, it may just be some imbalance or tight muscles and tissues in my right calf / lower leg. I am going to try to do more stretching and rolling out, and am going to incoporate icing and heating to the area to see if it makes a difference.
Has anyone ever had this dull pain that feels like its on the muscle right behind the bone?
