It's just messed up that this stuff is going into our food. This is part of the reason that children are going into puberty earlier and earlier. What else does it do to us?

perhaps she ate a cut of meat that still contained residue from the pellet.
The same thing happened to me, from toothpaste.

Why? Because the amount she tested positive for is tiny - we're talking parts per billion.
The drug is implanted under cattle's ear. What after that cow is slaugthered, another cow ate that ear? Then the new cow would have a higher percentage than normal.
Googling around about this stuff is scary as hell. Want to know why cancer rates are so high in the US? It sounds like it's because of all the damn hormones they are putting in the cows to get an extra $80 out of each one.
You heard it here first: a cow got drugs in its ear. Then that cow was killed and another cow ate that ear. Somehow a new cow was materialized from this and this cow was now so loaded with the drug, that all of this cows meat was contaminated.
Move along people.

Which is more likely?
The ear/cow/ear-eating-cow/new-cow theory?
Or: an elite athlete took a PED
I dunno. Hard to call.
So cows walk around and eat each others' ears?
I didn't learn that in school.

It's the hormones. If they can turn frogs gay I'm sure they can turn cows into cannibals also.

This is the most Rojoesque thing Rojo has every posted, btw. Seriously, this is insanity. Cannibal cows eating ears invalidating an indoor WR?

This is ridiculous! She should retain the record!
It is not too late to get in on my upcoming class action lawsuit for all of you beef eating joggers, and my suit over baby/talcum powder is advancing, as is my Cosby civil suit.
Cha-ching!
Another reason to stop eating meat. We should all become vegan.

In the turbulent world of misinformation and fear-based marketing regarding our food supply, LRC message boards are a tranquil cove of enlightenment and fact-based reasoning.

Yes, this ruling is so bizarre that it throws into question many of the other phamaphobic rulings since there is no show of prudence, realism or common sense. And people who believe that a one part in a billion dose of estrogen disallows a half mile record might also imagine that the similarly exotic NOP theories justify a witch hunt in Oregon.

Oh please. You are such a homer. If this was some Russian you would be running a special banner on the story . The point is no other Americans are testing positive for this. Ever other American eats beef, they don't fail the drug test. It is a replay of the same flimsy excuse ever American throws out when caught and all the apologists March out to defend him or her. But a Kenyan, or Russian or Turk fails a drug test and its different .
Is this the real reason Wilson has not raced outdoors?
WTF
Others have jumped in already.
Can we please maintain a SHRED of intelligence when discussing this stuff.
You guys are starting to sound like the wackos shopping at Whole Foods.
Red meat consumption is bad for you. It is likely a cancer risk. This has never been linked to growth-promoting hormones given in the US. Red meat has plenty of carcinogenic compounds already.
Rojo, the article you posted specifically says growth-promoters have never been linked to cancer.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2121650/
Meat is bad for you if you care about minimizing your cancer risk. It does offer plenty of other benefits, I suppose. Eat what you want.
This situation is complete BS. To me this resolution is completely unsatisfactory. There are one of 2 end results this should have had.
1. Ajee did something wrong and should lose the record and be suspended.
2. USADA and WADA need to evaluate this substance and recognize that it is something that can easily be ingested through the normal diet but it quantities it ingested through diet it has no performance enhancing benefit. If that is the case this drug should have a threshold amount before it becomes illegal. If this second case is true then Ajee should keep the record and this never should have become public.
BTW I don't know enough about this drug to know if the meat contamination thing is true and the science if this trace amount had no performance enhancing benefits. It just seems to me that this is a poor resolution by the anti doping agencies and is either letting someone off the hook or dragging an innocent athletes name through the mud.
Also agree with those that are very concerned about the crap the food we eat is pumped full of.
Totally agree. They bent over backwards to clear her. The double standards are sickening. Either bring the hammer down hard on everyone, or give them all the benefit of the doubt. I'm not saying either viewpoint is correct - but for the love of God, apply the standards uniformly.

Exactly. If this was a Russian it would be a government conspiracy, and them pretending to have no part in it, but here in the good ol' USA, it's okay, nothing to see here folks. Those Russians must have tampered with the beef supplies.
The drug testing hypocrisy is a sham.
The best thing to do is get rid of all drug testing completely.
In the work place is maybe okay, but not for athletics.

Cancer rates have risen consistently over the past four decades while red meat consumption has declined. But don't let pesky facts get in the way of a good biased opinion.
