Who do you think is right? SRR said she doesn't know any T&F athletes that have had one.

They have to do a runoff to solve this issue once and for all.
Either they know none of the same people or need to stop speaking in absolutes.
Fires back or "continues the conversation"?
Sometimes people want to make everything into a conflict or drama...
Flanagan vs. Richard- Ross 1300m who ya got?
Sprinter culture vs distance culture.
The conclusions that can be drawn from this are very obvious here, but not PC to say it.

Got that right, we are all thinking it, just can;t say it.
So glad Shalane posted this. Such BS from Ross.
Ross was referring to her husband's tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars. After signing a 3 year, $9.5m contract, he played nine games and told a fan "it was a nice paid vacation in Florida".
+1

Agreed. Own your own actions instead of trying to downplay it with the whole "everybody's doing it" routine. No, everyone isn't doing it. If you think what you did is right, you should be able to justify it without accusing others.

There you go. You've put it in a nice way that will still satisfy the PC police. Outliers in both camps, but that's the general gist.
The tl;dr version:
SRR makes an overgeneralization.
People point out that it's an overgeneralization and SRR corrects herself.
Flanagan says what SRR originally said is an overgeneralization.
People point out to Flanagan that SRR had corrected herself.
Flanagan acknowledges that SRR had corrected herself.

Flanagan and you are late out of the gate. Ruth Wysocki had already said that, and better, on this message board over a week ago.

RE: Sanya Richards Ross: 6/8/2017 9:41AM - in reply to LetsRun.com
In my experience as an elite athlete, I did not know any athlete who had an abortion. That doesn't mean it didn't happen, just that I was unaware of it. Also, most distance runners I knew were on the pill. In addition to avoiding pregnancy, it also allowed them to time their periods and avoid that happening during major events.
I am not going to judge Sanya, as I believe people need to make their own decision. It is not a decision I could have made. I think it is very brave of her to speak out now. She could have kept this secret and had no reason to tell her story now. I choose to believe her explanation as to why she is sharing her story now, and hope that it will be helpful to other female athletes to hear it, and hope it will be healing for her having shared this information.
Among the elite women runners that I know, there are several who were actually several months pregnant before they even realized it. These were mostly distance runners who weren't having periods who didn't even consider that any symptoms were due to pregnancy because they were not menstruating. Others, most recently Sarah Brown, found that they were pregnant at an "inopportune" time, and put their running career on a temporary hold.
Best wishes to you, Sanya, with your pregnancy now. I hope that you will enjoy motherhood as much as I have.

Orrrrrrrr she could've just been exaggerating to sell her book.
I'm sure the distance girls were abortion doping way back when.

Wiki: "While White women obtain 60% of all abortions, African American women are three times more likely to have an abortion."
Seriously... there's no conflict here. It was a continuing of the conversation, Lauren Fleshman and Shalane Flanagan had a pleasant discussion about it. No drama at all like Letsrun likes to make it seem...
Although to be fair, there was at least one athlete SF knew that did have an abortion (Sanya Richards).
All eruptions should take place up the tailpipe. Then this is a moot discussion.
