It's that time of year again....XC summer training thread for club/college runners of all ability levels (not just 25 minute 8k). I was part of this last year and am hoping that we can get a good group of regular posters on here every week or so.

The last year(s) of running was pretty hit-and-miss for me despite having consistent training and no injuries/interruptions. I had a poor XC season where I didn't see any improvement from the previous two years. Track was slightly better, but again no "real" PRs and a few abysmal races. This season I wound up running 4:15 for 1500, 15:20 5k, and 32:20 10k.
This will be my senior year of college, so I'm hoping to go out with a bang. Hopefully I've "saved up" my improvement over the last couple years and will be able to make a breakthrough (although I don't think it works that way). If I can get on a fast course I hope to run under 25, otherwise average under 26 across the season and place well. (and, of course, have fun!)
I just ended my season so I will be taking things easy for these next ~2 weeks or so. My training will pretty much be Summer of Malmo, which has worked well for me in the past. I'll be racing twice this summer - a road 5k at the end of July and Hood to Coast in August; I won't take either too seriously.
Hope to hear from y'all soon
