Appropriate title, just like Bekele (with marathons at least). Some pretty dang good races but then the ego gets you. Big talk starts and nothing to back it up when the time comes.
Lol Murphy is one of the most humble guys out there.. he wasn't bummed out about the result too & clearly stated himself falling off pace at 700. The records legit dude .. I'd love to see him double at 15 & 8 but I highly doubt it . Could be the American Makhloufi
Good god don't say that.

What is bad about that?
I wouldn't mind having a a 1:42/3:28 guy on the USA's side

Makh Daddy is my favorite MD guy. Total badass. Clayton is my second favorite.
Bekele is the second fastest marathoner ever lol and a how many time gold medalist? Like 20... do yourself a favor and dont expose your ignorance
You immature little babies are f*cking animals.
Clayton Murphy didnt even have a bad race. Every time the guy goes out he is chasing records. By contrast everytime you go out you little dweebs have to ask mommy & daddy for allowances.

Nothing. It's just that for the SJW types it's OK to accuse Makh of doping while ignoring Kenyan dopers like Kiprop, who intentionally bombed in 2012 for example because he was worried about testing, or when Kiprop was complaining last year about coaches being questioned / arrested for doping issues and that it bothered him and messed with his training.

Look where Murphy was four years ago. He's developing well. I suspect he'll eventually run a good bit faster than Makhloufi in the 800m and be right there in the 1500 once he gets stronger. He's better than Centro was at the same age, not even arguable.

This is the thinking on LRC that irks me to no end. Murphy is faster than Centro was at this age so he'll be a better runner. Drew Hunter had a faster mile PR before Pre than Webb did so surely he'all break the record. I'm all for Murphy's success but if this is how progress works then the kid who ran the mile fastest in sixth grade P.E. would be unbeatable forever.

Yeah it's a nonsense thought process.
Murphy has the potential to run a good 1500 some day, but right now, he is an 800m specialist only. 1:42 to 3:36 is a pretty massive difference in quality. He still hasn't even run the World/Olympic qualifying standard yet.
I see him having more chance of running sub 1:42 and moving inside the top 5 all time (huge), than moving into the top 30 for the 1500m.
Personally I don't think he has any chance of bettering Makh's 1500m PB ever.
I agree with you. We're an optimistic species who thinks things will always progress, always get better. We think we're progressing as a society too (we certainly are in many areas) but who's to say the way we live and have shaped modern society is the right way? We just chose it, but it doesn't mean it's the right path and we could be moving towards our end...we're optimistic, just like why we want to believe Murphy has lots of growth and potential.
