Not a real American. Might as be running for Peru, like Torrance.

What a time to be Canadian
Don't forget that a Canadian was also 2nd in the men's 10,000
He was born in Calgary, Canada when his family came to the USA as Refugees, Hopefully he will be running for the USA when he starts breaking World Records and Winning Olympic and World Championships.
If he runs for Canada he would probably named to the teams without having to run the trials as the only Canadians who could Challenge him is Mo Ahmed and a Healthy Cam Levins.
Wrong
Actually, if you want to consider Fisher an America (even though he's an import), he's the first American 5000m winner since Solinsky in 2006 (more than a decade ago)
Painfully slow, must be one of the slowest in the last 50 years of the meet. Don't care how fast they closed, they lose most mid-major conference meets running that slow.

Actually, Ted and Grant were both born in Calgary to American mothers and non-American fathers (Cuban vs. Canadian). Both moved to the US as kids and both are Americans at birth based on mother's citizenship.

Following your logic, why wouldn't Ted also be Cuban at birth because his dad was Cuban?

That has to do with the rules of a country, not logic.
AUSSIES 2nd and 6th
Actually, there's no considering here, he's an American citizen, by your logic and many other people's let's say someone goes on vacation to France and has a baby, the baby is now French

Exactly, this is why the "birther" movement was so asinine. Obama's mother was an American citizen (Stanley Ann Dunham) so it didn't matter if he was born in Hawaii or Kenya.

Fisher and Cruz are uniquely qualified to re-write NAFTA.
They should get together and exchange political thought. Both have excellent academic pedigree and both are thoughtful individuals.
Who cares what state they're from? American is American.
