This is an open discussion. Feel free to add whoever you want to the list.
I vote Dathan as most gifted.
Mark Nenow is the most gifted in terms of raw talent. 9:17 as a senior and MN state champ in his only year of running in high school. 27:20 in the 10k and held the American record for a long time. Built like a Kenyan. Long legs, amazing stride. Watch the YouTube video of 1986 Bislett games 10k. Under a more structured training program and development from a younger age like Rupp, Nenow would have gone well into the 26's and probably still be the American record holder.
Willis of NZ, Motram of Australia , Mourhit of Belgium.

Snell, Walker, Clark, Doubell from way back.
it would be kinda amazing to see Ben True graduate to half-marathon and then marathon distances, he still has several years possible perhaps
he might suffer from the same overheating problems as Rupp though at 6 foot

You mean Puttemans of Belgium. Mourhit was a Moroccan doper.

My vote's for the big, powerful Chris Solinsky. The heaviest runner to ever break 13 & 27 at 160 lbs plus. In fact, he's only 1 of 3 runners >140 lbs to ever break 13 & 27. His 5000 PB is faster than Rupp, and he's few seconds behind Rupp in the 10, yet Solinski's 25 or so pounds heavier than him. A massive engine on a big frame. Serious genetics at work here to run world class times at that size.
Why does there have to be "serious genetics at work"? Maybe he was just muscularly stronger and had better training than Rupp. This makes much more sense than some magical gene argument.

No. Ever heard of a guy named Paavo Nurmi?
And Ron Clarke.
Ivo Van Damme
Emil Zatopek.
And Rupp is not a dominant athlete. So no, he's not 'gifted'.
Herb Elliot was way better.
Peter Snell
Jim Ryan.
These athletes were supreme both in time and in wins.
Best US high schooler?
Ryan, Lindgren, etc etc
Before or after the gene therapy Salazar obtained for him?
What about Mary Slaney, who set a pile of records!?
Seriously, how many word records does Rupp have, and how many national records?

Baumman served a ban for doping; so we don't know much his ability was improved by the use of PEDs.

Doesn’t matter...he's a super fast non-Kenyan; a product of great genetics & hard, disciplined training, an Olympic medalist & National hero. Incredible things happen when you combine great talent with hard work & exemplary coaching...nothing new there.
Yes he is by far.
Galen Rupp is more genetically modified than Ryan Hall. That is for sure.

You are aware that the technology does not exist to do what you are suggesting, right?
Does he have any world records?
How many distances is he top 5 all-time in?
How many doubles has he pulled successfully, at Worlds or Olympics?
