How many marathons have you run and what number marathon is your pr?
3 marathons run, pr was number 2
How many marathons have you run and what number marathon is your pr?
3 marathons run, pr was number 2
I have also run 3 and set my PR in the 2nd, but that was a function of course and weather as much as anything else, I think.
15 marathons, PR #4
I've run 8.
Set a PR in my 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th.
I think I'll run at least another 2, but wouldn't be surprised if I never PR again.
9 marathons, PR was in #5.
5 marathons. PR was in #5
1 marathon. PR was in #1
I don't have exact counts of either total number or number before my PR, but I finished at least seven marathons (and dropped out of one) prior to my PR. My PR at age 33 came eight years after my first marathon.
7 marathons, PR is from my 4th marathon
Progression
2010 - 2:52 (did EVERYTHING wrong)
2011 - 2:39
2013 (spring) - 2:30
2013 (fall) - 2:25
2014 - 2:32
2015 - 2:28
2016 - 2:28
9 total. Lifetime PR is currently #7 but I'm not done yet.
9 marathons number 5 was my PR
Back in high school I was the shot putter.
Started jogging about age 30.
First marathon age 38.
Eight years later set PR in 15th marathon.
That was 8 years ago.
Hoping for another PR next year.
Nine marathons and PR in ninth. Last four have been chasing a sub-2:40, and finally got there (just). Will keep running them but am unlikely to chase a quicker time.
Good question.
I've run two marathons.
14yo 3:28
41yo 2:38

Exactly as above ^^^
26 marathons, PR #2
I always make a new pr, because I drop out of the race if I have no shot.
9 marathons - PRs so far have been in #1 and #9.
The back ground is that I ran a decent debut (3:08 as 38F). Then I tore my hamstring and was out injured for a long time, compounded by turning 40. So..it was a long climb back after that, from the 3:20s to the 3:10s. I was finally in shape to go 3:0x last fall, but then kept getting bad weather. Finally I got good weather and ran 3:02 at age 44.
As was noted above, your marathon progression is dramatically affected by the facts that you can only run so many marathons, and that good weather is so important.
10 marathons, PR was in #4.
25 marathons
PR in #5
14 months after the first; 35 years before the last.
