Maybe race a few 5k's and 10k's. Do you think he'd do pretty well or na?

Nah, look at Bekele's participation in track in recent years, pretty much nonexistent. His kick's aren't as good, his overall speed in the 5k and 10k aren't close to how they were. They've both progressed to a longer distance focus in the marathon.
Think of what a 2:01:30 marathon equates to. With about 3-4 months of focus he would be with the world's best in the 10K. 5K I'm not so sure due to his age, but 10K, absolutely.

Except he has not and never will run a 2:01:30 marathon
13:00-13:05 and 27:00-27:15 ranges.
Just not good enough to medal.

He probably won't run that exact time. He has gone faster though. Have you been sleeping?
Good question. He would medal for sure but he doesnt have the out and out 3.28. So no gold. A medal for sure.
the problem is that all these "conversions" and calculators say a 2:00ish marathon is way faster than all the WRs, but as you can see low 27 min 10k speed is all it takes. eliud would not run a WR in the 10k, no he would run around 27:05 ish.
he averaged 4:36ish which is 14:20s. how does this mean he can run WR in the 10k? no he is 27 low ability and just has insane endurance. if he came back to the track he would run 27 low and get out kicked. now if he was able to do a year now of solid track running without getting injured i can see him going 26:30's but thats about it. i mean can lagat go and run WR in the 1500 now cause he is doing 10ks on the roads now? no he is just getting better endurance than he had before, but his basic leg speed is gone
I think people are way too far down on his 10,000 ability. I think he could run 26:45-27:00. He would not be good in a championship type race, but he can still click away at the pace.

Did you miss how Bekele outkicked the best kicker on the track (Farah) at the Great North Run? Seems like his kick is just fine.

He has run 2:00:25 for the marathon you imbecile.
I mean yeah I understand people usually don't do as good if they try to come back to track.
But look at this guy dropping 4:35 miles for 2 hours straight looking so insanely relaxed while getting paced in the marathon. On a track he's only gotta hold a pace 17 seconds faster per mile, but for only 20 miles less. He can even tuck in behind people and just chill for the first 5k.

Sorry, I'm assuming he doesn't get a Nike Tesla to drive around the track and break the win for him.

The Tesla wasn't really helping with the wind, it was the pacers. You know, kinda like you get in a 10k.
Yes, the guy is naturally fast so I see no reason that he couldn't run around 12:50 and 26:40.
the assertion he has/had no speed is nonsense
here is his last track season where he crushes some chump in a 2 miles in front of chump's home-town crowd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTaMdJVFdhw
if not inexplicably bombing in Kenyan 10k trials in eugene ( perhaps illness/injury/hayfever ) he wouda been huge threat over 10k & 5k in '12 but that loss made him quit track
in his recent M, i have no doubt he had 51 - 53s speed, so his current estimates are ->
53.0 / 2"00'25 ->
3'35.3
4'51.8
7'27.8
12'47.5
26'32.6
52.0 / 2"00'25 ->
3'32.6
4'48.5
7'23.5
12'41.8
26'24.9
51.0 / 2"00'25 ->
3'29.9
4'45.3
7'19.3
12'36.1
26'17.2
experience draws me to between 2nd/3rd estimates for his current shape & remember, those are of M training !!!
If he focused on the track now, he would beat Mo. but unlike Mo, he doesn't like comfort zones. He moved on to the thon.
Calculo
You are surely trolling now. You know damn well that Kipchoge could not come close to breaking Komen's 3000m record in his prime on the track, and now one of your "lines of fit" lists 7:19 for him as he trains as a marathoner. Please....
Calculo is off shell again.
Kipchoge has never shaved his head clean bald. If he did it would give him about a 26:20 shape.
But why would he need to do that? He's already Eliud MF Kipchoge the marathon guy. Nobody but nobody gives a rat's intestines about the 10,000 anymore, except for Historic Hayward Field when Rupp's ready to go.
