The A Squad was definitely not all out. Look at the results from the other teams. That course is unbelievably fast.
I don't see how the course is unbelievably fast?
Using the top two Augustana runners as evidence:
Wilkerson ran 25:44 at conference , 25:50 at Oshkosh, and 25:34 at the Intercollegiate meet.
Johnson ran 25:42 at conference , 25:50 at Oshkosh, and 26:07 at the Intercollegiate meet.
We know what the other two courses are like and I would say that means that the CCIW conference course isn't any faster than Oshkosh.
Therefore, having a B squad with 5 guys under 25:20 and a 7 second 1-5 would definitely be in the running for a podium spot, if not for sure top 10 at nationals. It would lack a front runner but you would assume 5 guys in the top 100 typically is a top 8 team.
Augustana's top 8, even taking out the guy who ran 2 minutes faster, averaged over 15 seconds faster than their Oshkosh performances. Wheaton's top 8 averaged 25 seconds faster. Carthage's top 8 averaged over 30 seconds faster. North Central is extremely good, there's no doubt about that. Their B-Squad is clearly the best B team in the country, but they are nothing like a podium Nationals team. Oshkosh is an extremely fast course itself, and the CCIW course looks like it ran about 20 second faster than that.

Real Talk,
Who is the douchiest team in d3, and who is the douchiest individual?
For team, it has to be NCC, no brainer. For individual, I'd say Donson Cook-Gallardo from Carleton.
Oshkosh ran pretty slow this year. Soft and breezy. I'd say :30 slower than even last years invite
If the CCIW course ran 20 seconds faster, than that means they don't have a single guy sub 25 on their team on a legit course? Look at the spread- Patel got 2nd at prenats and beat Lau. At conference, that "B" team's #1 was only 25 secs back. with a 7 second spread from 1-5, 25 seconds back of Patel, that would mean the B team would be what, fringe all-americans at nationals? Now I'm not crazy enough to actually believe that but look at some of the other results- Hird was an all-american last year and two guys on the B team ran faster than him. That B team would 100% be top 10 at nationals, if not competing for a trophy unless their varsity guys just sandbagged in the other race, which wouldn't make sense since they didn't all finish together.
Not a north central fan at allllll but as evidence of their abilities this year their number 9 runner (Mckenna) ran at indoor and outdoor nationals on the track last year over 5000m...ran sub 14:35, 2-3x I think...fast by any account.
He is a not a great xc runner in comparison obviously but he is still a 25:0x guy. Guy isn't on their regional team. North central is very deep.
Just facts guys, not a big deal.

That is some random hate...
Plus, I think it was agreed on these boards last year that he is one of the nicer guys from nationals. Underrated talented, too. He doubles the 1500m and 800m at nationals and almost wins both..as a junior
100% after with North Central, but wtf on Cook-Gallardo? Dude’s just a socially awkward anime kid who happens to be super fucking fast

Letsrun in a toxic place with no empathy or respect for individuals. Its kind of like 4chan. This is what happens when you set up a board with no login requirements. People take advantage of this website to spew their random hate to make themselves feel better.
You know what they say: you know you go on letsrun too much if you go on letsrun at all.
That being said, we're all here for a reason: to bash on the south region and jerk off North Central and Geneseo. Now lets stop hating on a good runner who happens to like japanese cartoons and get back to this thread's roots.

That is a good point....
Over under on the South Region next year having a team place higher than 20th?
Side note, Carleton gets top 15 at nationals. You heard it here first.
*Disclaimer: I said top 10 in the MIAC thread just to cover my bases
Borowsky FTW. Regionals and Nationals.

Amen to the that.
YOU HEAR THAT CNU, WE LIKE THE ANIME KID MORE THAN YOU.
Does anyone know which 7 NC is actually running in the postseason? Will they throw any of those guys from the open race in for the postseason?

Does it even matter?

Nope
Haverford goes 1-2-3-9-10 with a 10 second spread the the Mid East Regional, winning the dual meet against all other teams combined.

Come on, the Augustana course is fast but those results are ridiculous. No way was that a full 8K.
