Anyone see LAX this week?? Top guy barely broke 27, thought they were good and were going to compete this year, guess not.

lol lets see you break 27 on the griak course in excellent conditions of 75-80 degrees with a dp around 70.

Everyone ran pretty slow this weekend. Look at the purple valley results, way slower than prior years. That being said, Williams is DONE.
Are you stupid?
How about Williams and MIT getting upset at Purple Valley this weekend. And Geneseo didn't exactly crush it either.
RPI for the win #D3XC
under no circumstances will rpi survive the brutal nationals environment, given their history of falling, but they deserve to be in the discussion a bit more now. Two incredible low sticks, and a solid 10K at Penn from the All American O'Connor
When has Williams NOT been upset at Purple Valley? And Geneseo ran just fine.
The Purple Valley course was different compared to years past. Construction on the high school resulted in changing the course. It was not properly measured to my understanding and the course was long, coupled with hot conditions, yielded slower times. Geneseo has a great 3, but need 4-5 to close the gap. RPI has a great 1-2. With freshmen in the top 5, they will continue to improve or the season will take its toll. Will be exciting to find out how both teams fair through out the rest of the season. Best wishes to both teams.
How does LAX not move at all in the regional rankings after a dismal performance at Griak? I don't get it? they looked awful!
So did everyone else in that race... :o

Last year all the courses were not "that" short... Now you're saying that they are long... Seems like the east is trying to hiding the fact that they aren't fit again. Only meets that really matters will be pre nationals and nationals because those will be the only times east coast teams run on legit 8k courses.
... A 29:40 guy ran over 26 minutes for second. the course was either a tad long, or very, very slow.
A 29:40 guy ran 26 minutes!! That's a great time for him!! Or maybe the course was very short.

Nice! Will you be here all week?

Even if it was a “tad longâ€... what let’s 5.05 miles or even let’s say 5.1 miles(yes American distances not that stupid kilometer stuff). The race directors have to be pretty damn stupid to make it that noticeable long but let’s just say they are. That only brings his 8k down to 25:20 and for a guy who has ran 29:40 for 10k that shows the dude isn’t fit. But in reality if it was 5.05 miles that puts his 8k at 25:35 so he clearly isn’t fit. The only way to justify his performance based on it being “long†is if the race directors are truly insane and it’s a quarter mile long. In this case his 8k is 24:37 which is around the time he should be running but no one is that dumb to make it a quarter mile long.
So in conclusion your dude just isn’t fit. Good news is he has 6 or so weeks to try and get there.
Or...you know...Isaac Garcia-Cassani, who has been 1st, 1st, and 4th at the last three NCAA Championships, won in 25:50. 25:50?! That's terrible! A guy like that should be running 23:50! He must not be fit. EVERYONE in the east coast must not be fit.
Or...maybe the course was a little long, the conditions were oppressively hot, and the course was already pretty slow. Nah. Must be that O'Connor and Garcia-Cassani SUCK.
agreed. its pretty obvious that race conditions were a bit less than ideal last weekend. hard to compare times in xc anyways. will to nice to see some results in the coming weeks with teams rounding into form more. Eau Claire on Friday is always a good one--some rolling hills but good footing and generally produces faster times. will the lax bros show up or will they even bother after getting devastated at the griak running times over 27min???
Word on the street it they took the week off to recover and play leap frog to help explosiveness. They'll be ready to roll come friday
Alright bro, sack the f*** up and realize 81 degrees isn't "oppressively hot" the midwest just had a week straight of 85-95 degree weather and you don't see anyone freaking out. I hope to god its above 80 at nationals and you east coasters will melt.
Oppressive wasn't the right word there, but the temps were definitely effecting race times and strategies. The new course plus the weather definitely slowed things down. That, and nobody wanting to run hard from the gun. But come on IGC and GOC are top 5 individuals at NCAA this fall so it is OBVIOUS that it was a slow day and slow course.
