Yeah because we would NEVER see a short regionals course (cough Rowan).

The Rowan course was not short for regionals. Probably the best part of them f*** ing up their earlier meet was that the coaches and NCAA committee would make sure that the course was the right length after that.
NYU ran similar times at Paul Short compared to Houghton. Flat hard packed courses run fast, that doesn't make them short.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter if a course is fast or slow, long or short. This is XC so everyone will run at the same course for regionals and we will see who is better
Bill Fritz invite had temperatures of over 90 degrees. It's hard to count that week as final for any team.
Speaking of running short- just heard that 4 SUNY G girls were transferred to the hospital after SUNYACs party.

Kids these days, gettin' soft.

Yes
RIT's pre-regional workout:
2 mile warmup
2x400 @80 sec (warmup)
4x1500 @5:05
3x600 @2:05
8x60mH @31
2x5:00 aqua jog @lactate threshold
2x200 @22
3X4:00 JPD increasers @race pace
0.69 mile cooldown
45 minute ice bath to cool down from all those JPD increasers
What was the pace for the cooldown, and what temperature was the water for the ice bath. If the cooldown pace was anywhere near JPD cooldown pace then it was too fast, Otto's probably burnt out. And if the ice bath was close to 69 Kelvin then he probably didn't recover as well as he could have, the pool was too warm to be beneficial.
Also, who the hell does 60m hurdle repeats during the taper? Everyone nose they're only crucial in base phase, and can often ruin a season this close to championship races. The 200s at 22 though might've made up for it though, since that's key for 8 kilometres.
RIT is the new Utica
The fresh coat of snow that houghton recieved last night should make things interesting tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s boutta be a whole lotta balls, you heard it here first
Whole lotta shriveled up balls LOL. Remember how Kyle Merber went sub four in Alaska the other day? Well that's some grade A Farmers Market baby back bullshit compared to what's being thrown down tomorrow. Not 100% sure, but total positive the boys from the D1 Northeast are catching van rides to the course tomorrow to watch this blood bath. See you boners at the finish.
P.S. Post grind fest banger in the cornfield next to the finish chute. BYOB-no bottles, only cans-no pants required-body paint encouraged-also, everyone be sure to make your tinder range like 10 miles :p
This thread is drier than RIT’s dry season. Y'all should be ashamed. Back in my day, this was like Christmas Eve and the thread would be stirring with Jersey boys over-hyping their teams, excessive talk of JPD's, and most importantly outlandish predictions. So with that said, let's get the ball rolling here:
1. Geneseo
2. RPI
3. Rowan
4. SLU
5. NYU
6. RIT
7. Oneonta
8. Ithica
9. TCNJ
10. Ramapo
Team Summary:
Region gets 4, Geneseo wins handily over RPI and company. Rowan barely edges St. Lawrence for 3rd. NYU doesn't have a strong enough resume to get out of the region. 6-8 spots all very close, but RIT far from NYU. Ithica gives Oneonta a scare by getting a tight pack together. TCNJ drops a miserable 6 spots from last year, back to their "choking at regionals" glory days. Ramapo picking up the caboose of what's barely even a relevant finish spot in the region.
Individuals:
IGC, O'Connor, Kingstedt, Veltre, and Hernandez duke it out from the gun. Hernandez wusses out and drops by 5k. It comes down to a kick, remainder of the group finish within a 10 second spread. Isaac takes the crown and does a workout 20 minutes after the race. He later gets quoted by reporter post race saying it was "2eZ". Other Geneseo runners like Pulvidente and Burks follow not too long after, getting the entire top 5 in the first 25 spots. Hamilton and Fredonia randos make some appearances near the top. Rowan and SLU get a solid grouping in the top 35 to help make the push out of the region. Given the conditions, times with be on the slower side, no one breaks 25. Big negative splits though, since no one wants to take the lead from gun, expect a fast last mile or so.
PS: after everything is said and done, the course is found to be even shorter than Rowan's. The officials deem that the top 4 teams have to schedule a re-match next Wednesday in Rochester. The rest of the region heads to Brockport to funnel Four Lokos and Pat Fannon shows up to do a keg stand and everyone loses their sh*t. Goodnight Atlantic Region, greatness awaitness you tomorrow.
Shout out to the RIT fans that we passed on the drive to H-Town
