Heard she won the steeple again, did she run the 5k too?
She won the steeple but got handled in the 5k by Schweizer.

Well alls that matters is qualifying so idc what place she was or how far behind, jw if she is doubling or not
I sure hope so. Been a long time since I seen her running the mountain
awesome news but needs more details, video, photo, anything!
Watched it live - when Schweizer dropped the hammer at 200m to go, Allie didn't seem to respond. Its hard to tell if she didn't respond because there was no need to (she just needed to qualify, and there was a large gap back to 3rd), or if she couldn't respond given the steeple in her legs 24 hours earlier. Regardless, Allie ran a strong steeple/5K double at West regionals.
IMHO, she is probably not 100% yet. Its just that she may only need to be at her 85-90% form to win steeple at Nats. I hope she (and Brenna!) are both 100% for XC.
Did any other NCAA woman complete a distance double at prelims?
Rohrer DNF'd one of her events. I don't think I saw any other attempts in either region but maybe I missed it. That's what makes Allie's return so impressive. Yes she took 2nd to Schweitzer but she had the steeple in her legs at that point.
Also I think Nadel took a big fall early in the west 5K but immediately sprinted up to the #2 spot and ended up qualifying. If what I think I saw actually happened that was pretty cool.

Erin Clark qualified in both the 5 and 10. Amy Eloise Neale tried the 15/5 but only qualified in the 15.

Regan Rome qualified in the 5k and 10k I think.

and there is no shame in getting beat by Schweitzer

Hardly, just watched the flo track video of last lap. Obvious, she let her go. St championship it will be much much different. Smart maneuver by Allie O. . Great is a master tactician.
Wow! 10:00 is a great time. It's only more than 1 minute slower than an 18 year old Kenyan female who had to stop and put her shoe on mid-race.
Good to see it. She is one of our best talents and I hope that she is healthy again and can build on this at nationals.
That girl is actually 17, but you can't even name her, another anon Kenyan phenom who will be gone in a few years. Meanwhile Allie's career will be dissected on these boards with every step she takes for the next decade.

Doubtful she will be running in a decade so don't worry too much about people dissecting her every step.
Schweizer ran 16:24.07
Allie O ran 16:25.76

All the Pros and promising up and comers are dissected step-by-step on this board. Think this is something? Check out the constant scrutiny NFL, NBA and MLB players endure. If Allie is uncomfortable with that, she can focus on academics and quit athletics. There are many other young college runners yearning to be "dissected" on this board.
