Fair enough, Mo Farah was National Champion without much training and talent does exist. But imagine if a kid in Britain ran 20km a day running barefoot then remaining extremely active for the rest of the day, you'd expect him to be very quick, maybe low 15s or lower. So, why when a Kenyan does it is it talent? Then imagine in America running had a culture like basketball does or soccer in Britain. The difference I think there is between the Americans and the African's is the speed aspect. African's have a lot of fast-twitch muscles in their hips and hamstrings so if they can do 55-60 second 400's when they reach 16 then all they need to work on is the stamina. I reckon if you got the fastest soccer players from Europe and got them to do proper running training after a few years they'd be very good.
