Yes, to state the obvious, doing core 1-2x a week would improve your planking ability.

This is for those who read the thread, not for the trolling OP.
All you skinny fat guys (and gals), do these exercises. They will make you stronger and keep you from tearing your rotator cuff trying to bench press more weight than is good for you.

make sure you are doing the planks correctly, don't just look at one youtube video and assume they know what they are doing
my biggest problem with planks is they are boring as hell so you have to distract yourself when doing them to pass the time
and yes, you should be doing core workout at least once a week, probably after a run
if it makes you feel better, I run sub 4:20 in the mile and it takes an all out effort to wallsit past 1 minute
