I never have but i find in the summer i sweat so much and constantly trying to wipe it away before it gets in my eyes.
If not a hat, any other recommendations on keeping sweat out of eyes?

I wear one for this very reason. Another trick is to carry a small hand towel to wipe the sweat. Nothing worse than salt in the eyes and all you have to wipe them off with is your sweat soaked shorts. I mean even if it was appropriate to take them off to wipe your eyes they wouldn't provide you much help.
I wear one every run. I am bald and have had a few spots taken off my head. At first it is hot but once you get use to it, it is great. Summer months I soak it with water and it keeps me cool for the run.
There is a guy on here who works for the Junk brands apparel company and he sent me one of their headbands. I'm bald and live in Florida, so I have plenty of experience with the issue. It really absorbs sweat well, wrings out and can be put back on.
Sometimes I still wear a hat instead though in an effort to make some small defense against skin cancer on my bald noggin. It helps too, but not as effective with sweat as a headband.
Thanks, any recommendations on brands?
I tried a headband a few times but maybe it was too thick since i found it was hotter than expected
I wear one of these, lots of options though (cheaper options im sure too).

I wear a arm sweatband...like you see in tennis. I use that to clear the sweat from my eyes. Works great.

yeah, i could see myself using that rather than a hat...which i could be wrong but feel i'd get overheated wearing

every run, every day, always.
friends in my running club are confused when they see me in civilian life without a hat on.
i also am now trail running a lot more and appreciate the hat to keep the ticks off.
The Nike, Adidas, etc. running hats are great. They keep the sweat out and are light and go in the wash no problem. They are also great for keeping sun glare out.
Dave Wottle.
I like a cap in the summer, but only if it's very light. Here are 2 that I like:

I never liked Buffs, but this is more like a very lightweight cap.

Very nice, if a bit pricey.
I wear a cap in the rain (in the UK, so often) and if it's very bright sun (not so often). But it does nothing for sweat. For that I carry a few bits of kitchen roll/paper towel in a pocket on every run. Would never run without it - blowing your nose, wiping sweat off, etc.
BOCO brands has some nice 5-panel hats as well that are very light. I usually go with one of those or a standard trucker hat.
Are you guys freaking serious
I swear this is the dumbest thread in LR history.
SWEATBAND
IT'S CALLED A SWEATBAND
HEAR THAT? YEAH THAT'S RIGHT.

He sent me two of these. Definitely warmer on my skin that I would have expected, but cooler than a hat for sure. On a 10 mile run in hot and humid temps, I find that I can get away with taking it off once or twice and squeezing it while running, wringing it out and then put it right back on. I wear it right along my eyebrows so that to the extent sweat gets passed, it goes right to my brows which divert it away from my eyes.

I wear a derby to keep the Cotswolds "sunshine" off. Cheerio!

I hate Nike. Especially after the Boris Berian episode. Swore off their shoes, clothing, everything. But I can't stop wearing their featherlight hat. I tried to stop, but it's perfect.
I have no principles.
I wear a hat to help keep the sun off of my face. I try to avoid having runner's tan or having chronic pink face.
My hat is trail heads. I honestly thought it was some weird offbrand company (I got it because it's cheap, and it works!) because I hadn't heard of them before, not realizing they are all over the place.
i usually wear one backwards when it's hot and sunny. while it obviously doesnt keep the sun of your face in that situation, it does still absorb sweat and then it drips down the bill and onto my shoulders which is a nice cooling effect. i'm a big fan of the nike featherlight aerobill hat (or something like that) but truckers also look way less obnoxious when worn backwards...
