I know many of you are professional or semi professional runners so I am looking for advice. I am a 44 year woman who took up running 2 years ago and fell in love with the sport. I just ran my 4th half marathon and did it for the first time in under 2 hours. 1:59:43. Ok by the skin of my teeth, lol but I was still thrilled! And it did not feel like an all out effort to me, I just ran a comfortable pace 9:08. My previous three half marathons were 2:08, 2:06 and 2:05. The 2:05 was one I ran 2 months ago, so I was pleased to be able to take 5 minutes off.
Do you think I have a shot at pulling off a sub 4 hour marathon in November? Obviously I need to train more and for longer distances. I currently run 30 sometimes 35 mpw. Or should I wait until I can get my half time 10 minutes lower? I have 4 more halfs planned for the fall. Thank you!
