Where do I even start? I get heavy, dead, and tired legs when I run. Actually every time I run. I don't pick up my legs when I run and I have an extremely short stride. I apparently also drop my hips when running and I may also be anemic. I can't do a squat flat on my feet without rounding my back or falling over and I have the world's most inflexible hips. I struggle with the pretzel leg sit and the butterfly stretch and I especially struggle with the double pigeon stretch (and when I do I feel poping in my hip bones right after the stretch when I go the other way) The end of races usually involve me getting passed by everyone because I can't pick up my legs at the end. I have literally tried everything to fix this. I have a PR in the barbell squat of 235Ibs and the barbell deadlift of 285ibs. (I squat on my toes) and I have a really strong core so I know strength isn't the issue. Also stretching and taking iron supplements hasn't seemed to have benefited me either. I have intense workouts but get enough recovery days and I do my long runs and speed work like i'm supposed too. I really don't want to run in college if I am going to have these issues because I think its these issues are the reasons I haven't really dropped any time in a period of three years. Also I am very consistent, never get injured, take my seasonal breaks when i'm supposed to, and work extremely hard. What do you guys think? Maybe I have reached my genetic potential or it is my heavy and dead legs and my inflexible hips that are limiting my ability to improve.
PS. I have tried to elongate my stride and pick up my legs but I can't.
PPS. PR's are 2:06 and 4:43 so I am not a good runner in anyway but should be faster than those times after three years.
