I want to break 4:50 this season, but I've been concussed and had the flu, so this season hasn't gone as planned. I ran 5:20, 5:02, 5:21, 5:22, 4:57, and 5:09. I also ran a 11:28 on the same day as 4:57, and an 11:13 on the same day as the 5:09. I know I haven't really gotten close to 4:50, but I feel like I just need a good race for it to happen. Tuesday is my last race, I'll be running a 1600 and a 3200. Particularly I'm focusing on the mile, where I really want to break 4:50. I have a teammate that has ran 4:43 running the 1600m with me. Should I just try to pace with him, or should I try to hit certain splits?
