So long story short, blah blah blah, my height is 5'8" (5'7.5" exactly) and I've worn lifts basically since my mid to late teens (not sure if this stunted my growth. My doctor says no, but Im not sure I believe him as he also told me I would be 5'10. I was 13 when he said this).
The problem is that for my races i take my lifts out and sometimes people say like oh you look different, or ask if i got a haircut, etc
Basically they notice something is off. So im going off to a new school soon and dont want to raise any suspicions so ive been looking around the internet for conservative shoe lifts that wouldn't interfere too much with my running
In dress and casual shoes i normally wear a 2.5 or 2.75 inch lift depending on the shoe I'm wearing. I understand that this is likely too much for a racing flat or distance shoe, but if anyone can suggest comfortable shorter options that would be appreciated.
I can find smaller lifts but have no idea if they are comfortable enough for RUNNING. I don't want to go out and buy a bunch of different ones only to find out that they're too hard (all of my lifts have a very tough vulcanized rubber feeling, even though they have leather tops).
I thought maybe because a lot of distance runners are also shorter that some may have some experience, but i understand that this may be a longshot. My usual forums for short men do not really have many runners.
