Have a marathon in 2.5 weeks and would love to rgo sub 3 but not sure if it's possible. Have run a couple marathons before but very slow as I wasn't as serious about running. The past 8 months I've been running steadily around 45-50mpw and ran a 38:04 pr on a road 10k. Was supposed to run a hm last week which was going to be a test to see if sub 3 was possible, however got the flu and couldn't run. Have run a few 30+k runs and a lot of 25+.
I was planning on doing a 34k run this weekend with the first 20k in about 46-47min/10k and then do 10k in 42.
This will give me a little more confidence, but wondering if there is some other workout I should do to test my ability. Perhaps a hm in 1:25?
Really want to go sub 3 but don't want to crash and burn in the final miles
