I always run shirtless when it's hot bc I hate the tank top tan lines but a lot of my teammates like he feeling of having a shirt on while they run. What are your thoughts on this pressing matter?

Two words:
Skin cancer.
Wear a shirt. And sunscreen. You'll thank me in 30 years.
Quite an extreme take on it. Here in the midwest, I run all summer without a shirt. I wear sunglasses and/or a hat if I feel like it. If I feel fat that day I'll wear a singlet and diet for 2 days.

I start out with a singlet, and lose the shirt if it becomes unbearable and I'm sweating a lot. Gotta get a tan bro!
I always feel weird running without a shirt, as if i look like a douche or something. If its really hot or im at the lake i much prefer shirtless though. Feels so nice
I think that I should always wear a shirt.
So do you.
And yes, skin cancer.
I prefer to run shirtless if it is 55 degrees plus. It just doesn't feel right with a shirt
Bruh a shirt is out of the question during summer runs. Even during the spring, as soon as the temp hits 70, it's suns-out-guns-out-szn baby!!!
Long sleeve loose fit tech on a very sunny hot day.
There is absolutely no direct correlation between running shirtless on a hot day and skin cancer. There has never been a study done on this.
Guy or Girl?
Get a sleeveless T-shirt a size larger than you normally wear in a light color. Cut off the excess on the bottom so the tail of the shirt extends only a couple inches below the waistband.
Air can breeze through it and under it. You'd be surprised at how much cooler this is than a shirt with a tail that extends 5-6 inches below the waist.
The spf of a t-shirt, even white, is exceedingly low (~5). Use sunscreen lotion.
Shirtless, of course. I don't worry about skin cancer because my runs are almost always at dusk or dawn when the sun is low. Running in the middle of the day during summer is for hobby joggers, charity runners, and other people who don't know what the eff they are doing.
I only run after the sun has set (or early in the morning before it has risen).
Much cooler, fewer hobby joggers on the sidewalk, won't look 60 at 40 due to sun exposure.

Agreed. I can't run topless or I'd get arrested, but if it's above 55-60 degrees I'm in a sports bra and shorts. I don't worry about skin cancer either as nearly all my running is done before 8:30 am.
I can't believe the amount of people that run outside during the summer.
It's called Skin Cancer, ever heard of it? Stay inside and run on the treadmill or run when it's not light out.
66% of Australians get skin cancer by the time they are 70. Australians live on average 3 years longer than Americans. Ergo, skin cancer is actually beneficial
How does a singlet or t shirt protect the whole body from the sun?
People don't run enough to get a great deal of sun exposure.
This is what I run in in the summer. Get's a bit warm inside the suit, but man it keeps the rays off my skin. (That's my altitude mask)
