I was there. Timing was poor all day, but they really messed up the 1500. They had to call back the 110 hurdles twice because the clock wasn't starting after the gun fired.
But yeah, it's so unfortunate for Cox of Northwest, because it was such a sick race. Still sucks for Kiprop, but he'd likely just be doing 5k/10k double anyways. Those 2 had a hell of a battle in the last 100. I've got to give props to Cole Wellnitz of Nebraska Kearney as well though. He took it out and led the first 1k or so, and those 2 guys wouldn't have run nearly as fast without him.
I could understand not letting him in if he was right at the cutoff, but 3:44.xx (I had that on my watch too) deserves to be at the national meet.
