I have run on racetracks a lot before (used to work for Speedventures and other racing organizers). On a race track, there is a lot of rubber laid down on the surface from the soft racing tires which the race cars use, which feels a tiny bit sticky when running on it. So, I think this will slow him down a bit.
Another thing is, time doesn't matter. What if there were 10 hours in one rotation of the Earth instead of 24? With 60 'minutes' in every one of those hours.
Then the project would be all about breaking 50min for a marathon, instead of 2 hours. So 2:00:00 is not the 'ultimate barrier.' It could be any time.
My point is if he runs 2:00:34, and Kipchoge said he was totally maxed out, and everything went perfectly, I'd be happy to know this result. I'd be no more impressed if he had run 1:59:19.
