Critical darling. Independent Spirit Award in the cards for her?

I don't know how this Rotten Tomatoes thing works but I have a feeling that after this thread her score is going to plummet. I have nothing against Pappas, barely know anything about her, but I know she takes a lot of crap on this board.
Good on her! I'm happy she is having this success
I saw it - the main takeway is the character she creates - Plum is a unique character. She's like an 8 year old girl in some ways, 15 in others, and 50 in others. The fun of the movie is seeing how this odd bird of a human being gets through her day, where everyone else is way more normal than she is.
And Plum is very appealing - very likable and interesting.
And the running details are fine - but really it's a coming of age story, with a little sex.

I'm in.
Huh?

she's innocent and passive like an 8 year old
fascinated/scared of boys like a 15 year old
self reflective like a 50 year old
I think this is the first time one of these Track movies was actually acted out by a top(relatively) track athlete. At least we won't be constantly criticising how they're overweight or have bad form
Where can we watch it? I'm busting out my wallet and finding a spot on the webs... Hello credit cards. DVD, VHS?
Oh it's on iTunes. I'm gonna watch it, then read Symmonds and centrowitz and finish Suzy. Currently I eat at chipotle but if I get shalane flanagan's book I'll be cooking all the time and have no time to read Suzy's shenanigans or Symmonds soiries and philosophies.

Life hack: listen to the podcast while cooking for bae. You'll even have time to gram your mermaid frappuccino.
I havent seen the movie so I'm just throwing this out there, but the description of Plum as "childlike and innocent" makes me think of Jordan..(I honestly can't believe she's 25)
Since we know Alexi and Jordan are best friends and ran together at Oregn, any chance she helped inspire the character?
I still cannot tell whether or not she is pretty.
The movie is crap. Got up and walked out after 20 min. The only movie I have ever waked out on.

You could have at least jogged out, let the rest of the audience know you're a runner and all that.

Pappas is pretty in a cute, quirky kind of way. That may or may not float your boat after high school/college.
Anyway, I feel like Pappas is playing out her life in this movie and pretending that she is someone else. Is that good or bad; is that the making of delusions?
Alexi Pappas a.k.a. Helen of Troy is very overrated
Pappas is WAY more interesting than 95% of the T & F athletes out there. I'm backing her.
Except non of these teammates or prior training partners ever "like" or comment on any of Hasay's posts. NOP, Nike people, Robbie Andrews and 3,000 groupies.
Really excited to see this... wanted to at the trials both showings sold out and sold out quick. Prob cuz the theater was pretty tiny, but glad to find out its on iTunes, will watch soon with the wife!

How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
