I know it's not fast for most of you, but my goal is to run a 3:07 and BQ. Current PR is 3:32. This came after a great cycle (19:57 5k and 1:32 half) with just too little mileage (averaged just 33/week with single week peak of 50).
So this spring/summer I am going big miles (for me). Have already averaged 40/week last 3 weeks and plan to keep safely building all summer until I'm at 55-60 average. This should put me in a position to do an 18 week Daniels cycle averaging about 60 week with peak of 70.
Is that enough mileage for a marginally talented 34 year old male to have a chance at sub 3:10 (assuming other races along the way show enough speed to do so)?
