That would be a great run. Flip side is that he's older than Murphy, Brazier, Berian. Food for thought.
It is what it is wrote:That would be a great run. Flip side is that he's older than Murphy, Brazier, Berian. Food for thought.
he maybe 20+, but he has no clockings anywhere before '16, meaning he is total newbie to sport
if he was lying, where were his 44+ clockings 4 or 5y ago ???
why wait 'til now to produce runs which wouda earned him $$$ years ago instead of buffalo-herding back home for peanuts ???

Buffalo herding? Just shut up.
What gets you out of Kenya on scholarship is proven ability at the very least in training if not in races that don't make the internet, and it probably takes years of working with those training groups to get up to the level required to be noticed.

You have no inkling what kind of animals African buffalo are, do you?
some estimate has to go into 800 indoor runs
this was impressive !!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFfT2FR9ij4
he jogged around to 600 & last 400 in a 1'46.9 was ~ 53.8 with splits of
~ 53.8 / 53.1
( there was 0.2s clock error, so that included )
he had some serious wide on last 200, likely 0.2/0.3s worse off
his last 200 was great !!!
it was actual 24.9 but with wide running on last bend
it was intrinsic ~
~ 24.6 !!!
i can offer some math :
53.8 / 53.1 off 2s +ve splits is ~ 1'46-flat from a formula
that assumes a last 200 of ~ 27.25 !!! from a formula
to run 24.6 is off the charts !!!
it likely is kick consistent at worst with a 1'44+ indoors & i mean low-end
1'44+ indoors shoud offer you 1'42+ outdoors
the Kid shoud be looking for with his incredible speed reserve, if 0 wind & smooth 24-low / 50-low
( 49+ is stoopid
you don't run 50-flat unless you aim for 1'42.0 )
~ 1'42.75 !!!

I'm sure he means cattle. Buffalo are not something that would be herded in East Africa. Likely, they would herd humans. They are MEAN animals.

I bet you stump broke a few cows back in the day. Any stories?
This is the future of Manny Korrir ....
- He will jog a 1:43 this weekend ...
- There will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth" between Ereng and UTEP's Head Coach on Manny's "Way Ahead"
- He will set the NCAA record at the championship .... and shut it down the last 10 meters ... saving his "A" game for a meet that pays
- Ereng will immediately fly to Kenya the day after the NCAAs to recruit another fellow Rift Valley tribesmen from one of his "non-profit foundations."
- Manny goes pro ... signed by Michael Johnson & becomes a sprinter for the Kenyan national team ... thus getting beyond the typical Kenyan track governance bs ... plus, MJ knows Manny's good for a number of years since he's willing to train for the longer events ... unlike Jeremy Wariner. Hell, the guy ran a couple of 33 minute efforts in XC last fall.
- Manny medals in London at 400 meters & runs on Kenya 4x400 ... he won't do 800 given the schedule.
- Manny buys a farm for his family & returns to WACO in late-fall to MJ.
eh ?
leave out
"farm"
"buy"
on same topic...

He's not a newbie and he's 25. If he were even 22 it would be a better story.
You are hilariously ignorant.
- 25???
- OOOH! Another UTEP special ... right up there with that hard-charging 28-year old Freshman Sulieman Nyambui back in the 80's
- Ereng ... taking another page out of Banks & Heidenbrecht's books!

"Mean" is an understatement. They are viciously violent animals with an intense hatred for human beings. From wikipedia:
"One of the big five, it is known as "the Black Death" or "widowmaker", and is widely regarded as a very dangerous animal, as it gores and kills over 200 people every year. Buffaloes are sometimes reported to kill more people in Africa than any other animal, although the same claim is also made of hippos and crocodiles.[21] Buffaloes are notorious among big-game hunters as very dangerous animals, with wounded animals reported to ambush and attack pursuers"
They don't just gore their victims. They will continue to trample and tear at them long after they're dead. The bodies won't be recognisable to their families after they're done.
OK ... beware of "Running with the Buffaloes" ... read the book!
seriously, why do you say wabbit?
is this a joke ?????
1:43.73 2nd place was 1:51 the leader was 52.3 at 400, Korir about 52.6 (estimate) at 400, so negative split.
