Would you protest your favorite NFL team if they drafted Gareon Conley? What about Joe Mixon?

I will not cheer for him, complain, and boycott until he starts playing well and then "this country is all about second chances."

I'm afraid too many people would react the same way. But how many other good paying jobs wants to hire someone with a history of sexual assault...or assault in general?

With Mixon, you only have the right to be angry if he re-offends. This is America, he was punished after the assault in 2014 and his ongoing second chance will continue. It's on each team to look into his background and make a judgement call about whether he has improved himself and is unlikely to re-offend. If they are wrong, they will suffer the bad publicity then.

As for Conley, whether he is drafted or not depends on what NFL teams were able to find out about the allegations. They will likely get their hands on almost everything that the police have. If he is drafted, that means that charges are unlikely. No way for us to know what is happening on the outside.

The problem with Conley is that a team could draft him and then find out the sexual assault was true and he's criminally held accountable.

Mixon's problem is the video. Whether he's punished or not, there will be special interest groups not interested in his rehabilitation and promoting their special interest.

It's a bigger issue for the first rounders as they kind of carry the face of the team's draft. The choices in other rounds don't to the same affect although it would be hard to hide these two.

Just throw all your Eagles gear in the same burn pit you used when they signed Michael Vick.

If Conley is a good player, go buy new stuff. If he's a bust and they cut him, proudly tell everyone you were against drafting him. Then go buy all new stuff.

No, the only problem is if he re-offends. The special interest groups can and should be ignored until that point.

We are nearly 3 years down the road, his punishment is over.

The whole Mixon incident started over homo hatred outside the food joint. In turn, the girl verbally defending her friend, called Mixon a n*gger. It escalated from there. Why isn't LGBT community all over this?

Football is a violent game. I want my team to have violent players. Enough with the hypocrisy.

The Patriots had to know Aaron Hernandez was a gang banger, and after drafting him he killed three people, shot another in the face costing him an eye and was surely guilty of other shit not known, and I don't expect you'll see a drop off in their popularity because of it.

The NFL is full of thugs and creeps but it remains the most popular and profitable sport.

And where is the NAACP or the Black Panthers to call out this girl? That's right. They don't want to be seen as being on the side of Mixon.

Here we sit and the Raiders drafted Conley in the FIRST round. And he took a lie detector test, "proving" he didn't rape the girl.

People who commit crimes and then serve their punishment aren't allowed to have jobs? Or is it OK to be like, a janitor, but you can't have a good job, is that it?

The full title of the article states that the same study you're citing also found that over 40% of white men have also been arrested by age 23. Hence my statement above.
