I'm a Freshman who just finished his first season of high school running. I didn't know what to expect coming out of middle school. The only races I did back then we're XC 2 miles (7th grade: 13:42 and 8th grade: 12:43).
This past cross country season, our team made it to regionals and placed 9th. We have a lot of room to grow, as 6 of our 7 runners are sophomores or younger. My personal best was an 18:49 in the 5k.
Moving on to track season, my PR's were 5:15 in the mile and 11:15 in the 2 mile.
Now heading into the offseason, my goals for next year are sub-18 in the 5k, sub-11 in the 2 mile, and sub-5 in the mile.
My current training is about 30 miles a week over the course of 6 days. I try to keep each of my training miles at leaSt below 7:45, although the past month or so I have been running 7-flats with ease.
Based on my training right now, do you think I'm in a good position to reach my goals for next year? If not, can anyone offer other training advice for me to succeed? Running has really become my passion overy the last couple years, and I thank everyone who responds and gives me advice.
