Hey,
So I (16 y/o male) had a 800 pr of 2:08 last year and my splits were 62,66. This year I felt I was in much better shape but I still ran two 2:08's both going 60, 68. But in my last meet I ran probably the weirdest 800 of my life.
There were about 18-20 people in my heat and I got boxed in immediately at the start. My first 200 was super slow at like 33. I got frustrated and surged to third place, going through 400 in 63 (leaders were 60-61). I tried my best to catch the leaders and eventually did, running and 62 for my last lap for a 2:05.
Does negative-splitting a 800 in 2:05 indicate I can run faster? How fast do you think I can run?
I'm more of a mile guy by the way.
Thanks
