I am running a mile TT on Friday hoping to break 5:00 and I want to know what you guys would do to prepare during the next two days. I have been working with 40 mpw and here is what I did on Monday and today:
M: 2 mi @ 5k pace (6:00), 1 mi @ 5:40, 4x200 w/200 jog working down from 34 to 30
T: 8 miles easy
Here is what I plan to do for the next two days:
W: 2 sets of 600, 600, 400 at mile pace with 1:30 between reps
T: Easy run with a few 200 strides at mile pace
Is my Wednesday workout too hard if I am going to run a TT on Friday? btw I have run 5:07 by myself during a workout a few weeks ago and it felt pretty manageable so I think 5:00 is within reach for me.
