Over 8000 ft (near 9000 at peak). Constant long rolling hills throughout. Worked me over. This was my first time up there to run.
My thoughts...
- Definitely a challenging run (I ran fairly steady)
- Quiet. I was seriously the only runner up there.
- Dangerous?? A decent amount of traffic with a few blind spots
- Hilly. Not many stretches along the entire road that is flat.
- Isolated. Not sure if I were a female I'd run alone up there.
Hope to run up there some more. I can see why so many greats (Shorter, Barrios, Pippig, Plaatjes, CU Buffs, etc) routinely run up there.
