Looks like he had a good race FTW but I wouldn't say it was a particularly stacked field and someone of his experience would have been favourite.
Good to see him racing again, I thought he'd dropped off the radar after overtraining like a few guys from 3-5 years ago bashing out stupid 150+now.
Good to see him win, but like someone else said, it wasn't a particularly stacked field. Most others were over at Madiera Island taking a Masterclass from François D'Haene (that was unbelievable).
Interested to see how Timothy Olson's season progresses ! I hate to see solid runners get burnt out.
He seems to have missed the extremely competitive spring races here in the U.S. Let's see him win one of those, or WS100 again, before we declare him to be "back".

ultrarunners tend to selfdestruct after a couple of years at the world-class level.. very difficult to peak for more than one ultra a year, but the sponsors need it, so they tend to overrace.
3-4 years is typical with a few going 5+.
