My sister is running the NYC marathon and I wanted to run the last 10 miles or so with her. Is it possible to just like hop in without registering etc?

The police presence for the 2016 marathon was pretty ridiculous, so they'll probably kick your ass for banditing.
Look bud....just because you took your sister to the prom and shared your first real kiss together doesn't mean you can bandit the NYC marathon.
You will be arrested, knucklehead
NYC has a half-marathon auto qualifier. Just find a local half to jump in somewhere in your area and register with the auto qualifier.
its really hard to give a definitive answer without seeing pics of her first.
10 miles might be tough, because you've got to jump in on 1st Ave-Lots of people to wade through, lots of cops, A safer bet might be in the Bronx-in the three times I've run, it's pretty thin crowd up there--might be easier to jump in. That would get you 6 or 7 miles, as I recall. The hardest part is finding your sister while she's on the course-there's lot's of people running. In my 3 times running, my wife's tried to find me on 1st Avenue, and I've always run right by her, unseen.
Just have her falter dramatically at 10 to go and vault over the barriers and carry her in. How big is she?
it's a really crowded race so that's sort of a dick move. if you're going to, i'd recommend jumping in at mile 14 (queens), running up 1st ave to the bronx, down 5th ave, and get out before there are barracades (mile 21 if i remember correctly). whateve ryou do, don't run through columbus circle or the finish line - they will snatch you and you'll be screwed

The world record won't be valid if you are a guy and pace her.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
