When will you runners learn that "on your left" means get out of the way and not block the trail with your slow asses?
I grew up a runner and spent a lot of my 20s on a road bike. Roadbikes belong on roads not suburban paths. (I ride paths occasionally but when I do I am hypersensitive to the fact that it is my responsibility to avoid people on foot, not the other way around.)
As far as mountain biking goes, the vast majority of riders do not possess the skills necessary to share trails with runners, hikers, and equestrians. I think the best solution in many popular areas is to divide the week up into something like the following.
Monday-Weds mixed use.
Thursday- Runners, hikers, equestrians.
Friday Mtn Bikes only.
Saturday, Runners, hikers, equestrians.
Sundays- Mtn Bikes only
