5k.
But he's really good on the roads.
5k. for now. When Galen Rupp ends his track career after this year, he'll have a better shot
Both distances, but on the road. He's a phenomenal road racer (BAA, B to B, Manchester, etc.), and I'd be very curious to see how he does at other distances on the road.
Definitely more of a 3k/5k runner than 5k/10k guy, but I don't see why he couldn't move up. However, no matter what his potential is, I think he will retire before he would have to move up to the 10k.

In the sack, he and the missus have some good slow twitch DNA. Time to go into production.

No. He does not.
with his combination of strength and 1500 speed but without the ability to really sprint off of a slow 5k pace, I wonder if he wouldn't do better in tactical 10,000m races.
if he's already past 30, what potential are you looking for: times, medals, teams?
Ben has stated many times that he intensely dislikes running the track 10k.
However, he has usually doubled at USAs/Oly Trials as insurance in case he didn't make the 5k team. Unfortunately, that approach likely cost him a place on the Oly team last year.
This year, he has stated he will only run the 5k at USAs . . . he should have a pretty good chance to make the team along w/Chelimo & Hill . . . no Lagat & Rupp in the 5k from now on.
Maybe he can talk to Alan Webb about how to get started - he's still an pro triathlete right?
