I'm a female. I'm a freshman. I had a really bad xc which didn't exactly lead to a great track season.
I stopped for water after almost every mile. And i didn't realise that had an impact on my training
But i was looking at the results from our Varsity and JV county meets.
The top JV boy runs a 2:20-2:30 800. A 5:10-5:30 1600. 10:50-11:30 3200. 5ks in 19:30-22:30
Then i looked at our varsity girls. 400 in 63. 800 in 2:30-2:35. Distance runners 1600 in 5:50-6:00. 3200 in 12:40 to 13:10. 5k in 20:00-24:00
And our girls JV team. 800 in 3:10. 1600 in 6:50-7:10. 3200 15:00-16:00. 5k in 25:30-30:00
But i was asking myself with the right endurance and speed training... are certain times attainable?
Future goals:
800: 2:25-2:40
1600: 5:40-6:20
3200: 12:40-12:55.
5k: 19:30-24:30
Current Prs
400: 1:19
800: 3:15
1600: 7:20
3200: 16:05
5k: 27:10
But are my goals unrealistic or unattainable?
With the right training could i reach them? The right base building and recovert
Base building/Endurance training will be the main focus with one Tempo/Progression run a week.
Ive decided over the summer that i would run about 25-35mpw in June and July. Then official practice starts in July.
Does this sound unrealistic?
