It's a lie as he's failing to disclose other methods he used to transport himself and deliberately implying he only used those three methods.
If this went to a civil court it would be proved that he IS claiming he travelled by JUST those three methods as it's failure to disclose.
It would also be proved in a civil court that he cheated.
Taking all the evidence into account, the balance of probability for a conviction in a civil court would be very high.
It's perfectly obvious to anyone other than a fraudster friend if Darren, that he is claiming he covered the entire distance by just those three ways, and I'm quite sure he will not be admitting the RV riding when people interview him and praise him for doing the entire route running skating and cycling.

At the start of this when I presumed he was going to fake running it all, I thought he might be in line for making some money off this scam.
But as time has gone on, I'm not sure he'll make anything.
I think he's just wasted his summer.
He had hardly any interest in this, and cycling and skating is hardly a big deal even if he covered the full distance that way, which of course he didn't.
I now can't see any publisher being interested in a book or people looking to hire him to speak about this.
