great graphic. anyone else notice, the sectors/industries that are most regulated are the ones where prices rise the most?
No, according to the graphic those are the sectors in which *the share that is spent* has risen the most.
We cannot infer from the graphic itself that prices in any sectors have risen (or fallen); all we can reasonably infer is that people spend their money in different proportions than they used to.

This. I was referring to a very specific type of intellectual: the types who think that things would be better if only they controlled everything. They think that they know everything, and could fix almost every problem, when in reality, they are quite clueless, and would create a disaster if they were in charge.
If you restrict your claims that much you're just saying self centered, power hungry clueless people are self centered power hungry and clueless.
Maybe it is because they understand a fractional banking system based on charging interest at every level is guaranteed to create a massive, unsustainable debt bubble.

Australian figures would be similar to Britain, Canada, Ireland, NZ, and maybe the US (and western Europe). The one concern that I noticed is that because housing is so, so expensive, people maybe eating too much processed and manufactured food as a substitute.

No one struggles to get food in America. Many homeless people are fat.
More people struggle than you would believe. I've been there, and I've seen it.
