4:37 first mile for the men
9:17 at 2 miles for men. Big lead pack.
Mare Dibaba and Tigist Tufa (2015 winner, last year's runner up after Sumgong) are running at a much more sensible pace. That might be where the real race is at.
That pace honestly looks like suicide.

This is what I thought. They are probably working together to work their way up because the others are running WAY too fast (compared to their PB).

Yep
Watched Boston last night, pretty sure I remember the men's 5 split was 15:24 there.

Agree. It's a sideshow, upfront. Ridiculous.

Am I the only one they can't stand the weirdly placed ads? It's like there's no warning - they're talking and all of a sudden there's an ad.

Yes it's annoying. It's because NBC is using the BBC broadcast and there are no commercials on the BBC. So they basically have to insert them and there's no elegant way to do that.
The pacer Caroline Kipkirui's 10,000m pb is 31:16 from last year.

She split 31:17 today.
5:16 mile now. It keeps slowing down.

Yikes. Go America.
Anyways, it took FOREVER for Bekele to get that carb drink down. Anyone else see that? He was holding it and drinking it for, like, a full minute and a half.

Keitany starting to blow up?
This live stream is working for me, though make sure you have good adblockers and antivirus:
Tewelde runs for Shettleston in Glasgow, his 5k pb is 14.44 :-)

She doesn't look entirely comfortable any more.
66:54 for Mary Keitany at halfway
