Next year, he will join a team with 2 sub 15:20 guys and Drew's little brother who has run 15:40 as a sophomore this past fall. Will be a scary team in xc and have some awesome relays in track.

They could have a scary 4xmile
Rumor is there is another big name headed there too. We gonna rule this thing. Virginia on the map.

Not with that kind of grammar, you won't. You'll be asking, "you want fries widdat?"
How is this allowed? In my state it is very rare for someone to be able to transfer to another school and participate in athletics the next year. They usually have to sit out a year due to the fact that people think they are transferring for athletic reasons. This seems to be the case.
Nevermind just read the article;)
Woof, going to be a miserable commute for his father
Hope dad realizes that even leaving home before 5 am that he will have a 2 hour commute. That being said, Marc and Joan will have the kid progressing and succeeding. And yeah, they will have a MONSTER xc team and 4 x mile team. In XC, they are returning:
Peter Morris, NXN 2016 Qualifier, 15:14 5k as a JR
Colton Bogucki, 15:16 5k
Jacob Hunter, 15:43 AS A SOPH
Jacob Windle, 16:13 5k
Chase Dawson, 16:22 5k
Kevin Carlson, 16:38 5k. AS A FRESHMAN
So their top 5 is going to be:
15:14, 15:16, 15:17, 15:43, 16:13 With a 16:22 tie breaker.
Yeah, they should be in the mix for an nxn title.

In Virginia if you transfer without moving your residence then you sit a year. If you move your residence into the new school's area then you play immediately.
Okay, that makes sense
Hopefully Tinman can develop this kid into another personal cash cow.
it will be interesting how he adjusts to their program.
they seem like they had a monster xc season and a lackluster track season by comparison so far although it is still early
who is the other transfer going there? that could vault them into a contender status for nxn
Unless he is a mileage monster who crushes every run, he will adjust perfectly. Despite all of the accolades Tinman has gotten, The Hunters definitely know what they are doing. In the last three years they have had one NXN qualifier, 1 FL National Champ, and Another female FL Qualifier.

That same rumor of another big star relocating to Loudoun Valley after this season has been making the rounds among VA coaches for a month or more, but it would be unfair to give the name I was told because it's only a rumor. Most rumors seem to be false. For example, the same source's other mega-rumor involving VA distance running was shot down in flames with the Affolder-to-Loudoun Valley announcement.
VA has been a fun place to live and coach in more recent times because it has been a hotbed of stellar high school distance running. Of course it's not the only HS distance running center, but there has been a buzz in the air statewide due to some recent successes on a national level. I can sense it among other runners and coaches, and it feels infectious, in a great way that leads to further improvement. Kids latch on to the successes of others in their school, their county, their state, and LetsRun and MileSplit make it so much easier to delve into the sport and come away inspired.
How long before Sam breaks a Loudoun Valley school record...
&
What record will it be!!??
Drew's 800, mile, and 3200/2 mile records are pretty fast...1600 not enroute to a mile might be a possibility. Would think a relay record or two would fall.
nolan jez is already predicting a new dmr national record and a nxn national title!!!!
Nolan Jez is the VA correspondent for MileStat, so he is in the business of predicting records based on potential. I hope he's right.
He'll also predict a sub-4:00 mile for Sam in a year or so. He'll predict a team NXN win for LVHS, probably. He'll predict greatness for Drew Hunter's younger brother Jacob, because of Hunter family genes and legacy (and great coaching!). It's the nature of Nolan's job to make bold predictions, for better or worse, because it stirs up great interest on va.milesplit.com. Is it hype or just enthusiasm? A bit of both, but it's all fun, really. I like it, for the most part.
Did he predict the Sam-to-LVHS news? No. In fact rumor has it (ah, a rumor!) he predicted that Sam would go to another school much closer to the Pentagon. It probably was a smart and logical prediction, based on the commuter hell of Northern Virginia.
the southeast will rise! finally we can see the southeast move out of the basement for nxn teams! everyone transfer to loudon valley and build a super team!
