they did replay the break anyway, some of the best marathon coverage ive seen EVER, and ive watched a ton of races, also very good quality i had personally.

. People couldn't just be interested in the race, could they?
There are but whoever is producing these broadcasts are too stupid to realize it. They have no interest in the race and don't understand how people could watch others run for that long a time.
I feel the same way about hockey. How could anybody sit around for 3 hours watching a bunch of guys skate around and never hit the puck in the net? The only difference is that the broadcast isn't telling some story or showing a commercial when the one goal a game is scored.

I don't care much for Rupp, but anybody who thinks differently than the truth I just dropped is either a hater or idiot.
Being one of the best US marathon runners isn't really anything to write home about. Surprised how much these boards are on the Rupp hype train at marathon level.
He's not going to worry any modestly talented Kenyans.
Galen did not worry the unknown Kenyan Kirui.
The unknown Kenyan Kirui did not know the name of the unknown American runner he just ran away from easily.
The name of the unknown American runner is Galen.
All the unknown American runners look the same from a distance when the unknown Kenyan runner looks back at them.
The really talented runners from Kenya and the greatest distance of all time from Ethiopia will be running at the London marathon.

Meb has an Olympic Silver. Rupp has an Olympic Silver and an Olympic Bronze.
Meb has a better marathon PR. Rupp has a better PR at literally every other distance.
Rupp has more American records, NCAA titles, NCAA team titles, Olympic finals appearances, and sits at a higher spot on the all-time world list at his best event than Meb does.
By what possible metric does Meb have better credentials than Rupp? Unless you're talking about the marathon only?
Meb won Boston. Meb won New York.

I was definitely rooting for Rupp. So sick of freaking Africans winning everything. Even worse, so sick of Africans...errrr....naturalized "Americans" winning.

DING, DING, DING!
(yes, obviously Rupp has better overall distance running accomplishments, but Meb clearly still has the advantage over Rupp in the marathon)

Now that Trump is president, immigrants should be banned from American road races. They're talking trophies from deserving Americans.

If not outright banned, then at least a 20% border tax/penalty: Add 20% of their final time onto that time. That would more fair.

No, YOU'RE a road racin gnerd!
other countries are participating in so called time dumping. needing only low amounts of time for a marathon. americans cant compete with that illegal practice

Meb won Boston. Meb won New York.
In an era when globally the best distance talent was in the marathon, Meb won Boston, NYC with 2nd and 4th place Olympic finishes. In the same era where distance talent was prediminantly in the marathon, Rupp had a 2nd and 5th in the Olympic 10k, 3rd in the marathon and 2nd at Boston. If you value place over time and records, Meb has accomplished more and he's done it against stronger competition. That said, Rupp's career isn't finished and times/American records do count for something. Overall, I'd rank them similarly if both were to retire tomorrow.
Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but why was Rupp wearing a night gown? Is this another technological breakthrough from Nike?

hobby joggers love the guy. They think he is "one of them".
When Meb runs great, is always his life story and God. When he runs poorly he always blames injury.
I like Meb but he knows the act he has to play.
Not sure if this has already been said, but at the start of the race all the elite males came out of the church and through a narrow corridor with fans on the left and runners in the first corral on their right. From my vantage point it appeared that all of the elites engaged the fans and runners with smiles and high fives as they made their way to the starting line, with one exception, rupp, who appeared to be in the midst of a roid rage and refused to make eye contact with anyone. As an American, I really want to pull for the dude, but when he does stuff like that he's doesn't make himself very likable. Kudos to Jared Ward in particular and all the other elites for recognizing that fans make their livelihood possible. End of rant.
So that was Boston, big friggin deal, 2:09 for the men and 8 seconds shy of 2:22 for Kiplagat and second a minute further back.
WTF are you all getting excited about?
Bring on London.

"isn't really anything to write home about." Oh really?
Check out the 2017 Boston Marathon Prize Structure:
http://www.bostonmarathonmediaguide.com/prize-structure/Looks like Rupp can write home about $75,000. Not bad for 2 ish hours of work. I bet Rupp made more money in 2 hours than you did in a year. He's laughing his way to the bank, buddy.
Next.

Yup, I brought that up when it happened. Nearly everyone else was smiling ear to ear and high fiving every fan possible. Rupp was grimacing, looking down, and trying to ignore all the fans. Didn't want to get "sabotaged" with some androgel.
